HHS obtained a jury verdict for $30 million on behalf of the Pauma Band against Harrah's Operating Company, Inc. in a business interference action.
Enriquez v. Edward D. Jones & Co.:
HHS, as co-lead class counsel, obtained a $127 million settlement with Edward Jones & Co. arising from allegations of a commission kick-back program.
In re MAT Five LLC Securities Litigation
On July 9, 2008 HHS was appointed by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to act as lead counsel in a case alleging securities laws violations arising from risky arbitrage trading of municipal bonds.

HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP APPOINTED LEAD COUNSEL IN IN RE MAT FIVE SECURITIES LITIGATION
The firm was recently appointed lead plaintiff's counsel in a class action against Citigroup, Inc. arising from the collapse of MAT V, LLC. The case is pending in the USDC Southern District of New York.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP FILES CLASS ACTION AGAINST SCIENTIFIC GAMES, INC.
The firm recently filed a class action against Scientific Games, Inc. arising from the company's failed "quick-pick" horse racing computerized systems. Plaintiff alleges that Scientific Games offered and sold "quick pick" but "can't win" race tickets in several states causing the class substantial damage.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP PROSECUTES ACTION AGAINST MAJOR CAR RENTAL COMPANIES FOR ALLEGED PRICE-FIXING
Hulett Harper Stewart LLP is one of the lead plaintiffs' counsel (along with Center for Public Interest Law at the University of San Diego School of Law) in Shames, et al. v. The Hertz Corporation, et al., an antitrust and consumer class action arising out of pricing of rental cars at California airports beginning on January 1, 2007. The case alleges that the defendant car rental companies agreed in violation of the antitrust laws to pass on to renters a tourism assessment obligation of the companies and of raising its base rates in the approximate amount of 9% coincident with legislation permitting the unbundling of a fee known as the airport concession fee.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP PLAYS PROMINENT ROLE IN ONGOING LITIGATION OVER INTERCHANGE FEES AND MERCHANT DISCOUNT FEES
Hulett Harper Stewart LLP is one of a small group of firms working closely with lead counsel in prosecuting on behalf of proposed classes of merchants MDL 1720, In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant and Discount Antitrust Litigation. The case seeks damages and injnuctive relief from Visa and MasterCard and many of its leading member banks due to alleged price-fixing and other anticompetitive network rules and practices.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP SETTLES AMMUNITION MONOPOLIZATION CASE
During April 2005 Hulett Harper Stewart LLP successfully concluded an antitrust, breach of contract and business interference claim by securing a $6 million dollar settlement for two private business clients. The case, National Metals Technologies, Inc., et al v. Alliant Techsystems, Inc., et al., was pending in federal court in San Diego and was settled shortly before trial.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP AIDS SETTLEMENT OF THE BROADCOM SECURITIES CASE
On June 23, 2005, Broadcom Corporation agreed, subject to court approval, to pay $150,000,000 to settle a securities class action against it, alleging that Broadcom failed to adequately disclose the financial impact of its issuance of warrants to customers in connection with acquisitions. HHS played a significant role in prosecuting the case, under the direction of Heins Mills & Olson, counsel for lead plaintiff Minnesota State Board of Investment.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP FILES CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST INFOSONICS CORPORATION
On June 13, 2006, Hulett Harper Stewart LLP filed a class action complaint against InfoSonics Corporation (“InfoSonics”) (AMEX: IFO) in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California on behalf of investors who purchased the publicly traded securities of InfoSonics during the period from May 9, 2006 through and including June 9, 2006 (the “Class Period”).
The complaint alleges that InfoSonics and its top officers engaged in a scheme to defraud InfoSonics investors in violation of the federal securities laws.
HULETT HARPER STEWART LLP, CO-LEAD CLASS COUNSEL OBTAINS $127.5 MILLION SETTLEMENT WITH EDWARD JONES & CO.
On October 18, 2007, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri approved settlements totaling $127.5 million on behalf of customers of Edward Jones & Co., one of the largest brokerage firms in the United States. The complaint alleged that Edward Jones received money from mutual funds in exchange for Edward Jones agreeing to recommend those funds as its “preferred funds” to its customers.
PAUMA WINS $30 MILLION VERDICT AGAINST HARRAH'S
On Decmeber 1, 2006 a San Diego jury of eight men and four women found that in 2004 Harrah’s intentionally interfered with a proposed $300 million hotel/casino project between Caesars Entertainment and the Pauma Band of Luiseño Mission Indians of the Pauma Yuima Reservation, which is located in North San Diego County. The Pauma Tribe was awarded $30 million in damages as a consequence of the intentional interference.
